IATSE Local 8 and Bauder Audio Reach Tentative Agreement PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 28 March 2007

IATSE Local 8 and Bauder Audio Systems, Inc., have reached a tentative agreement for a three-year term contract covering all regular full and part-time shop technicians at the company. B.A.S. provides audio and backline equipment and trained technical support personnel for event production staffs and professional musicians on the road.

The Bauder crew participated in the six-month negotiations resulting in recognition of all shop employees and daily hires. Shop employees will now have contributions made to the IATSE National Health and Welfare and Pension Plans as well as the IATSE Local 8 Annuity Plan. Daily hires will have a 25% benefit contribution made on their behalf to the Health (10%), Pension (4%), Annuity (8%) and Vacation (3%) plans. New overtime provisions, holidays and yearly wage increases were agreed too.

Initiation and application fees were waived by Local 8 and the International. All Bauder employees are scheduled to be sworn in by time of the next Local 8 General Membership meeting. The organization of this shop is another important step in Local 8’s effort to represent stage technicians in its jurisdiction.

The IATSE is an International Union that represents members employed in the stagecraft, motion picture and television production, and trade shows industries throughout the United States, its Territories, and Canada.
