Telefilm Canada has announced that new media companies and productions, supported by its Canada New Media Fund, took home five awards at the 2007 Canadian New Media Awards (CNMA). Now in their seventh year, the jury-selected CNMA, in which Telefilm is a presenting partner, recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of individuals and companies in the Canadian new media industry. “Canada is one of the most wired countries in the world, which ultimately gives us an advantage in new media production and distribution,” said Wayne Clarkson, Telefilm’s Executive Director. “We must capitalize on our familiarity with new platforms and the appetite Canadian audiences have for interactive content.
