Women in Film and Television-Toronto (WIFTT) has announced the SUN TV Pitch Competition at the 2007 WIFT
International Summit
. WIFT-T will host the Summit in Toronto at the Park Hyatt hotel from July 16-19, 2007.

The SUN TV Convergence Pitch, presented in partnership with SUN TV, will allow articipants the chance to submit an email pitch for a television project to representatives of SUN TV. The most suitable concepts will be selected to pitch in
person in front of an audience at the 2007 WIFT International Summit. Up to $10,000 will be awarded in development funds to a winning pitch. Pitches selected for presentation at the SUN TV Convergence Pitch will be contacted directly in order to prepare for the pitching session. The winner of the pitching competition will be announced at the closing ceremonies on Thursday July 19, 2007 at 12pm in the Queen’s Park Ballroom. Representatives from SUN TV at the 2007 WIFT International Summit will include Derek Luis, Executive Director, Independent Production; and Don Gaudet, General Manager of Programming.

“SUN TV is very pleased to be a part of this conference, and looks forward to supporting new innovative concepts with development funds,” said Don Gaudet, General Manager of Programming.

The WIFT International Summit is expected to attract more than 600 delegates from around the world, bringing together th  film and television community from Afghanistan to New Zealand. For four days, delegates will be inspired by panels, workshops, screenings, and special events. The WIFT International Summit will give Toronto the opportunity to spotlight its diverse talent and encourage international business opportunities that can assist Canadian production companies and filmmakers in creating strong products that are viable in the worldwide market. Held every two years in a different country, 2007 will mark the first year this event has been held in Toronto.
