IRIDAS, who introduced the first software solution for uncompressed stereoscopic playback in 2002, is seeing increasing use of its DualStream technology for HD, 2K, and higher resolution playback in postproduction facilities such as Threshold Digital Research Labs and 3ality Digital Systems. Originally only available with special stereoscopic versions of FrameCycler, DualStream is now an optional add-on module for all current versions of FrameCycler as well as SpeedGrade HD and DI. FrameCycler with DualStream provides uncompressed playback of stereoscopic content and supports most 3D display technologies. It has been used extensively in areas as diverse as public presentations, scientific research, and, of course, postproduction. "The stereo versions FrameCycler helped us a lot," said George Johnsen, CTO at Threshold Digital Research Laboratories who have been using IRIDAS' DualStream technology since 2003. |
