Thursday, 13 September 2007

Pinnacle Systems, Inc., the consumer division of Avid Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVID), today announced the August winners for its online Pinnacle Studio™ version 11 “Share Your Video Experience” contest. For the month of August only, there are two first-, second- and third-place awards. Submissions were posted on www.pinnaclesys.com/share as they were received, in accordance with contest rules. Winners were selected by website visitors who viewed the videos, read about Pinnacle Studio version 11 user experiences and voted for their favorite videos.

First-place winners were Chris Shaw of Houston, TX for "An Unforgettable Engagement" and Jose Rodriguez of Maspeth, NY for "J-R You’re Fired". They will each receive a Panasonic AVCHD camcorder. Second-place winners Sherry Ohern of Sugar Hill, GA for "Letters from Hawaii" and Tanya Morrill of Las Vegas, NV for "Mrs. Morrill’s Class" will receive a Pinnacle PCTV To Go™ HD Wireless system. Third-place winners Francis Cao of Abbeville, LA for "Magic with Pinnacle Studio 11" and John Burris of Wake Village, TX for "Our Alaskan Vacation" will receive a Pinnacle PCTV™ HD Pro Stick.

Each month, Pinnacle staff members are also selecting their favorite video and highlighting it on the website for everyone to enjoy. For the month of August, the staff’s favorite videos were submitted by Stephen J. Hemenway of Placenita, CA and Dale Steinkamp of Quincy, IL.

Chris Shaw, one of the first-place winners, posted this comment: “I created this video for our friends and family to share in at our wedding. The more I got into the program, the more powerful I learned it was. My advice to those who are looking to make an unforgettable slideshow, Pinnacle Studio 11 with the Heroglyph Title Editor allows for endless possibilities of creativity with professional style quality. I am convinced this is the same software the professionals use. Now, Pinnacle has allowed everyone to create the same quality work from their home computer”.

To enter the contest, participants submitted a 100-word description of their positive experience with Pinnacle Studio version 11 and a sample video. The contest will continue through the end of September and the September final results will be announced by mid-October.

To meet the video authoring and budget needs of consumers ranging from beginners to experienced users, the award-winning Pinnacle Studio 11 family includes Studio, Studio Plus and Studio Ultimate. Equipped with powerful personal video creation and sharing capabilities, Pinnacle Studio 11 can be used to create Hollywood-style DVDs that can be played on any set-top DVD player or PC.
