An agreement has been reached between Telefilm Canada and the Montreal World Film Festival (WFF) regarding funding for 2007-2008.

The agreement calls for Telefilm to provide a maximum of $249,000 in financing for the 31st edition of the WFF, which includes electronic subtitling.

In light of Telefilm’s objective to be an accountable and effective administrator of public funds, negotiations between the two parties featured extended discussions concerning the WFF meeting the Corporation’s terms and conditions, including the immediate implementation of measures to enhance corporate governance and strengthen financial controls.
