The W.E. Graham Community Service Society has received a $10,500 grant from the BC Arts Council to support skills development workshops in media arts for West Kootenay youth.
$219,600 in Spirit of BC Arts funding has been awarded to commission 30 arts, cultural and heritage projects across the province, Tourism, Sport and the Arts Minister Stan Hagen announced today.
Thirty-two professional artists will receive $32,000 in BC Arts Council funding to support opportunities for professional development, including workshops, instruction, and attendance and participation at exhibitions, conferences and festivals.
Up to five Canadian filmmaking teams will be selected to receive $9,500 in cash, over $16,000 in services, a national broadcast license from CBC Television, a world premiere screening along with customized training in writing, directing and producing, mentoring from established filmmakers.
